Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. It’s been an eventful last month of September in Williamsburg, so I’m excited to share some highlights with you tonight! I’ve also included a few more pictures in this newsletter to give a feel for recent events.

  • New York Climate Week — I recently had the pleasure of attending New York Climate Week, where I met inspiring individuals from around the globe who are deeply engaged in climate technology. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow alumni of the Global Changemakers program (pictured above), on a picturesque balcony over Central Park. Those here are actively involved in community service projects across India, Switzerland, and Kenya. Their dedication is inspiring and I am thrilled to attend this program in South Africa, with my focus being on clean energy and sustainable cities, later this month.
  • Ayanna Williams Campaign Launch Event — I was honored to speak at Ayanna Williams’ campaign kick-off event for City Council, shown here. Ayanna brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table, which are prominently featured on her campaign website (linked above). Her enthusiasm for city policy is commendable, and I’m excited to see her contributions to our community.
  • Sierra Club Climate Solutions Roundtable — On the 18th, I had the privilege of participating in the Sierra Club’s Annual Climate Solutions Roundtable for the fourth time. Alongside other local leaders, we discussed various environmental initiatives, highlighting the City of Williamsburg’s commitment to sustainability. You can view our discussion at the link above (my comments start at minute 1:24:10, use code g7?uHGrr).
  • Candidate Forum — I’m also pleased to report on the recent City Council Candidate Forum organized by the League of Women Voters, picture above. The forum provided a valuable platform for our community to hear from candidates Lindsay Barna, Ayanna Williams, Fraser Hudgins, Barb Ramsey, and Pat Dent. Each candidate shared their vision for our city’s future and engaged in insightful discussions on key issues facing Williamsburg.
  • College Woods Circuit Phase 2 — Lastly, I’m thrilled about the progress on the College Woods Circuit Phase 2 project. This initiative aims to expand our multi-use trail network, enhancing connectivity in our community, particularly benefiting students traveling to Berkeley Middle School. For more details, check out the link above.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement in Williamsburg’s events and endeavors. As always, please reach out if I can ever be of help.

Yours in service,
Caleb
